- Alexander the Great… But Make It Funny | Conquering Persia & Bombing at Open MicsJan 30, 2026 · 19 minI just watched a documentary on Alexander the Great and tried to do what I always do — turn world domination into punchlines. From conquering Persia before age 30 to having the confidence of a guy who’s never bombed on stage, Alexander might be the original “main character energy.”
In this episode of Reality is Optional, I break down the wildest moments from the documentary and try to find the comedy in ancient warfare, ego, legacy, and what happens when you think you’re unstoppable.
We’ve got:
Alexander tutored by Aristotle; conquering most of the known world before 32; elite military strategy and questionable emotional decisions; what happens when your army is tired but you’re still chasing glory; and why every comic secretly thinks they’re Alexander at an open mic.
History meets stand-up. Empires fall. Jokes rise.

- Back to the Future - DeLoreans, Gigawatts, and My Random NonsenseAug 11, 2025 · 8 minIn today’s episode, I’m taking Back to the Future Part 1 for a spin — literally — by pulling four random clips and seeing where my brain takes me.We’ve got:🚗 The iconic DeLorean reveal⚡ Doc Brown freaking out over “1.21 gigawatts!”👊 Biff finally getting dropped by George McFly🌩 Marty’s thunderbolt-fueled trip back to the futureBut instead of breaking them down like a normal person, I’m using each one as an excuse to tell ridiculous personal stories and imagine what I’d do in those situations. - Cease-Fire, Elevator Oversharers, and the Plague of RecommendationsMar 13, 2025 · 13 minWhy is “cease-fire” only a war term? You never hear it at a dive bar when two guys are about to throw hands over a pool game. Let’s change that. Also, let’s talk about people who overshare in elevators—because why does a 10-second ride turn into someone’s full autobiography? And today’s random word of the day: recommendations. Why does everyone have them? Why are they always bad? And why is the internet obsessed with forcing them on us?
