JaMarr John Johnson is a NYC-born stand-up comedian, keynote speaker, and Entrepremedian who has spent nearly three decades turning real life into relentless laughter. Raised with New York grit, sharp wit, and the kind of observational humor you only develop riding public transportation and surviving family cookouts, JaMarr brings big-city energy mixed with military discipline and entrepreneurial madness to every stage he touches. A former Marine and Navy officer, JaMarr served 14 years in the military while his brother recently completed an incredible 20-year career serving in the New York City Police Department. Between military life, New York culture, and corporate America, JaMarr has accumulated enough material to keep therapists and comedy clubs in business indefinitely. Now based out of Truth, Love & Comedy in downtown Austin, he’s built a reputation for transformational comedy that blends crowd work, storytelling, personal development, dating chaos, entrepreneurship, masculinity, AI culture, and brutally honest social commentary into one unforgettable experience. One of the defining moments in JaMarr’s comedy journey came in 2009 when he met Dave Chappelle backstage and handed him one of his comedy business cards. Chappelle read the card, laughed instantly, and told JaMarr he was going to be successful. That moment became fuel for a career built around the philosophy that levity leads to revenue. Over the years, JaMarr has performed in comedy clubs, corporate theaters, conferences, and charity galas across the country, helping raise millions of dollars while making audiences laugh so hard they accidentally become generous. His unique ability to mix humor with inspiration has made him a favorite for audiences that want more than recycled airline jokes and tired dating apps material. He has appeared on Katie, The Dr. Oz Show, and Jersey Shore, where he somehow emerged as the voice of comedic reason during peak reality-TV insanity. JaMarr’s comedic style has been described as: “a motivational speaker with New York energy who decided healing should come with punchlines.” Whether he’s roasting modern culture, discussing relationships, breaking down entrepreneurship, or explaining why networking events feel like emotional CrossFit, JaMarr creates a show that leaves audiences laughing, thinking, and texting their friends quotes before they even make it to the parking lot. Because in JaMarr’s world: If people are laughing, they’re listening. And if they’re listening, transformation has a chance.
