Commedia Dell’Arte: The Mastery of Mask & Physical Comedy with Mycah Hogan Step into the vibrant, high-stakes, and highly stupid world of Commedia dell’Arte in this immersive two-day intensive. Designed for actors, educators, and anyone who’s mask-curious, thiis workshop aims to strip away the “polite” performer to reveal the raw, hilarious, and wildly human archetypes that have fueled comedy for centuries. Participants will explore the rigorous physicality and spontaneous play required to bring the iconic stock characters—Arlecchino, Capitano, Pantalone, Dottore, and others — to life. Through mask work, ensemble devising, and the study of lazzi (classic comedic business), you’ll learn how to activate these characters in your own body and build authentic (and sometimes surprising) connections to the audience. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your comedic timing, expand your physical range, or simply reclaim a sense of wonder in your craft, this weekend is about unlocking the power of the mask.
