Clown Class With Deby Xiadani CLASS DESCRIPTION: Clown is an evergreen artform that is really having its moment! Find out why! Whether your a standup comedian, improvisor, expert clown, or have never done anything like this before, the art of CLOWN will unlock a new appreciation on life, performance, and laughter. This class is designed to make you a better performer, more sensitive to the audience, and a stronger artist. Open to all experience levels, this class offers a supportive and collaborative environment for anyone ready to elevate their comedic practice and rediscover what makes performing electric. 8-week session DATES: Sept. 28 Oct. 5 Oct. 12 (Indigenous Peoples’ Day) Oct. 19 Oct. 26 Nov. 2 Nov. 9 Nov. 16 TIME: Check-in: 5:45pm Class: 6pm-8:30pm COST: $400 / $450/ $500 for 8 classes, 2.5 hours each *Returning students (who have taken a 6-8 week class) are eligible for 20% off ($320 use code RETURNINGCLOWN) **Two work trade/skill share scholarships are available for new students. Deby Xiadani is the Artistic Director of The Rockwell, as well as a director, comedian, writer, actor, and devisor passionate about creating bold new work. With a love for physical comedy rooted in a childhood obsession with Jim Carrey, Deby has developed a unique voice that blends playfulness, heart, and fearless experimentation. Her work has been recognized nationally: she directed Cooking with Kathryn, which won Best Physical Comedy at the FRIGID Fringe Festival and People’s Choice at PORTFringe. She also created the clown show Miss Route 1 for the Boston Fringe and founded the Boston Fringe Festival itself, building a platform for boundary-pushing performance.
