In A Minute & The Importance of Being Haunted 2 shows in 1 hour! In A Minute After dancing for 16 years, Tess Saoirse Liddy had to take 2 years away from dance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon acceptance to the aMaSSiT program in Cambridge, Tess was in a space of struggling to self-regulate emotions and mental health. She created this piece to explore her own mind. Losing the structure of traditional schooling, coupled with the pandemic, and her first year as a public school teacher, Tess found that she was questioning the way her mind was processing information and impeding her functioning in daily life. This piece explores the challenge of dealing with daily life tasks, while struggling to understand the way your brain is working. Since it’s first iteration, Tess has been diagnosed with ADHD and is finally making sense of the way her brain works. In this version of the piece, Tess seeks to explore the next phase of understanding your brain: once you know and acknowledge the problems and/or limitations, how do you move forward to accept and embrace yourself? In A Minute features Eliza Owen-Smith, Abigail Dube, Audrey Abraham, Heidi Ho, Joselyn Gil, Sanaya Mistry, Shawna Upton, Katie Logan, Shirin Kuppusamy, Kelsey Clausing, and Aarti Lamberg.
